From Dreams to Degree: Enjelly’s Education Journey

The journey to achieving one’s dreams is rarely straightforward, especially when faced with financial and personal challenges. For many young individuals from indigenous communities, the pursuit of higher education can feel like an uphill battle. Yet, with the right support, dreams can become reality.

In this heartfelt letter, we share the words of Enjelly Pasang, a Penan graduate who, with the help of the Malaysian CARE OA scholarship in 2019, overcame difficulties and have successfully pursued her education. Enjelly’s story is a testament to the transformative power of opportunity. She has since completed her Bachelor of Administrative Science (Hons) at UiTM Kota Samarahan and is currently working as a temporary teacher at SK Tegulang, Ulu Belaga, Sarawak.
