        Communications Development

        About the person
        • The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys facilitating and building bridges, with a background in events management or pastoral studies and has great coordination as well as administrative skills. Prior involvement in Christian networks is definitely a plus.

        • The role of the Church Relations Leader is to build relationships amongst churches and connecting them to the work of Malaysian CARE in meaningful ways.

        • Additionally, the Church Relations Leader develops communication mechanisms and provides opportunities for churches to be involved in community development projects to address specific program and community needs within their vicinity.

           
        Responsibilities
        • Communication Material Development

        •    Facilitate the development of communication material (preaching videos, small group discussion points, call-to-action adverts, etc) to provide opportunities for churches to be involved in social concern.

        • Matching Church Relations with Volunteerism & Donor Relations

        • Work in partnership with Community Development staff in identifying volunteer projects through needs assessment and ongoing communication with churches

        • Work in partnership with the Donor Relations Leader to provide opportunities for churches and its members to support Malaysian CARE's ministry through giving .

                 

          Administration

          ·    Establish reporting mechanisms to share feedback with Malaysian CARE staff to acknowledge strengths, successes and areas for improvements.

          · ·Proper recording of data in Malaysian CARE’s database system to facilitate ongoing communication with churches.    

                ·   Communicate regularly with church pastors, leaders, volunteers through check-in phone calls, emails etc.

                ·   Arranging and facilitating visitations of staff to churches. 

            

        Desired Skills/Experience/Attributes


        •           A genuine passion for the poor and needy - ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward helping others.

            ·     Good organizational skills - Experience in managing and supporting groups of people to address community needs through service projects is a plus.

            ·     Able to work independently and on a team.

              ·      People person - ability to build relationships and work with staff, volunteers and churches.

            ·      Experience in planning and implementing events/campaigns.

            ·      Strong language and communication skills (written and oral) in English and Chinese.

            ·      Computer skills is a must – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Photo Shop will be a plus.

        The Communications Department encompasses a wide range of responsibilities to guide internal and external communications efforts of Malaysian CARE. Essentially, the Department works to promote CARE in the eyes of the public and its stakeholders. To this end, the Communications Department supports, develops and implements materials, projects and events that effectively communicates the mission and objectives of Malaysian CARE.


        The Church Relations Leader will become an active team member with a primary role of communicating Malaysian CARE’s vision and clarity and purpose to churches towards establishing long- term partnerships.         About The Position
        • The ideal candidate is someone who is familiar with social media, technology and has good writing skills.

        • The Donor Relations Leader will create and execute a list of comprehensive donor relations initiatives to maintain and grow Malaysian CARE’s donor portfolio with individuals, corporations and churches.

        •  The Donor Relations Leader will think strategically about donor engagement, providing creative solutions to enhance the relationship of donors with Malaysian CARE and increasing the likelihood of continued contributions.

        Responsibilities
        • Online Campaign Development

            ·   Facilitate the development of fun and user friendly online campaigns that would be engaging for the public to be a part of via social media platforms.   

        •       Communication to Donors

            ·    Develop bite-sized communication material that can be shared with donors on a frequent basis i.e e-blasts, year-end-reminders, project reports, web pages, invitations, newsletter updates, fundraising campaign materials, testimonies, transformation stories etc.      

        •      Administration (Database Management & Reporting)

            ·   Manage the donor database system and ensure timely updating to develop quarterly and annual summaries/reports. 

        Desired Skills/Experience/Attributes

        Responsibilities
        • Web Maintenance

            ·   Regularly checking of Malaysian CARE’s website for issues and mistakes and keeping it updated and relevant to keep the website healthy, encourage continued traffic growth, and strengthen Malaysian CARE’s SEO and Google ranking

        •           Ensuring the website is well maintained and attractive to engage with various stakeholders.

            ·   Ensuring proper back-up of website and safety of website.

            ·    Ensuring all e-forms are running properly.

            ·   Setting up of new users profiles/email addresses and responding to queries in regards to Malaysian CARE’s G Suite platform

        •        Web Design

            ·      Keeping Malaysian CARE’s website up-to-date via designing webpage layouts by constantly updating stories/testimonies, events etc.

        • Work in partnership with department mates to provide advice on web setup for promotion of Malaysian CARE’s services     and opportunities for engagement – volunteering, donating etc.


          Database Management

            ·     Maintains and program Malaysian CARE’s database system to ensure it accurately captures data needed and produces accurate reports needed by the team and the organization as a whole.

            ·     Linking data in database to e-mailing systems to ensure ease of communicating with stakeholders regularly

        • Content Creation

        • Capturing and creating content for the right feeds – Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, website etc·

        • The development of great bite-sized information via video, photography, short stories.

        • Work in partnership with staff from other departments to come up with communication material – flyers, short videos etc

          Influencer Profiling
            Work in partnership with other Christian Influencers to promote social concern and advocate for the poor
          Follower Community Management

        •           Gathering of data to report ‘Insights’ of social media channels/campaigns effectiveness.

            ·     Identify trends amongst followers.

           Social Media Channel Management

        •         Work with Head of Department to develop an annual strategy to highlight and promote key initiatives as well as maintain all social media channels.
