Church Relations Leader

About the position

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys facilitating and building bridges, with a background in events management or pastoral studies and has great coordination as well as administrative skills. Prior involvement in Christian networks is definitely a plus.

The role of the Church Relations Leader is to build relationships among churches and connect them to the work of Malaysian CARE in meaningful ways.

Additionally, the Church Relations Leader develops communication mechanisms and provides opportunities for churches to be involved in community development projects to address specific program and community needs within their vicinity.

Responsibilities

Church Engagement
  • To build relationships with churches, church-networks and church leaders to raise prayer, financial giving, influence for Malaysian CARE and promote opportunities for the church to be involved in social concern.
  • To undertake, organise, plan and coordinate speaking engagements at churches and conferences, including festivals for young people, across Malaysia (physical and virtual).
  • Identify/resource for appropriate church contacts with relevant materials, maintaining church deputation records to accurately reflect relationship status/follow up.
  • Ensure deputation packages used by staff is up to date, consistently used across CARE and has clear call-to-actions.
Capacity Building
  • To organise for trainings and other initiatives that will raise up next generation speakers and promote consistency in message delivery.
  • Journey, share resources and strategies to PC KK and PC Miri and work collaboratively where necessary.
  • To be a part of and work in collaboration with the Spiritual Empowerment team to promote integral mission amongst staff and incorporate material into church deputation package where possible.
  • Manage and coordinate the Thursday Intercession and Friday Devotion scheduling.
Partnerships
  • To work in collaboration with the Community Development teams to understand and promote opportunities for partnerships to churches in Malaysia.
  • Research, identify and initiate ways to involve churches post engagement.
Prayer & Advocacy
  • To develop and promote advocacy campaigns to live out Christian faith with boldness and humility, and to expand and deepen our partnerships with churches and faith leaders to identify and address the causes of poverty and vulnerability.

Responsibilities

Church Engagement
  • Regularly checking of Malaysian CARE’s website for issues and mistakes and keeping it updated and relevant to keep the website healthy, encourage continued traffic growth, and strengthen Malaysian CARE’s SEO and Google rankings.
  • Ensuring the website is well maintained and attractive to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ensuring proper back-up of website and safety of website.
  • Ensuring all e-forms are running properly.
  • Setting up of new users profiles/email addresses and responding to queries in regards to Malaysian CARE’s G Suite platform.
Web Design
  • Keeping Malaysian CARE’s website up-to-date via designing webpage layouts by constantly updating stories/testimonies, events etc.

Database Management

About the position

The Donor Relations Leader will oversee donor engagement, lead fundraising initiatives, coordinate donor-related activities to enhance donor relationships. This role involves mentoring the Donor Relations Executive (if applicable), achieving organizational fundraising goals and ensuring alignment to CARE’s vision and mission.

Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination
  • Plan with Corporate & Donor Relations Manager on annual approach, determine targeted resource streams and develop strategy to achieve fundrasing goals – i.e campaigns, staff support, CSR, mission funds etc.
  • Lead efforts to identify and secure new fundraising opportunities and resource streams.
  • Be the contact person and main coordinator for any fundraising appeals or projects assigned with external parties.
  • Coordinate with Finance and other department for donor-related matters.
Communications and Donor Correspondence

  • Readiness for long-term journeying with communities and families in addressing their plight and assisting them towards recovery/reintegration to society with a resilient and sustainable livelihood.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in collaboration with multiple teams across the organization and prison authorities/officials.
  • Well-versed with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess organizational skills including documentation, analysis, and time management (eg. multitasking, deadlines, monitoring)

About the position

The Leader in the Human Resource Department is a collaborative team player who drives HR initiatives and supports key functions to enhance organizational success. This role offers candidates the opportunity to shape people-focused strategies while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Assist in the overall function and operations of HR.
  • At least 3-5 years of working experience in HR is preferred.
  • Assist and coordinate the staff training programme and plans that is approved by the Management.
  • Represent the organisation in fairs and any exhibition related to career fair/HR.
  • Organise the Staff Induction Programme for new employees.
