Diploma in Information Technology / BSc (Hons) Information Technology
My siblings and I have been staying in an orphanage since we were young as my parents were not able to support all of us financially. After I finished my SPM, Malaysian CARE assisted me with my application for the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship that was essential in the development of my journey. I got the opportunity to pursue my Diploma in Information Technology and went on to pursue my BSc (Hons) in Information Technology after which. Under the scholarship program, I was able to engage in higher education and pursue my dreams.
After graduating from the university, I was employed by a Malaysian company specializing in 3D Virtual Reality Mobile Applications. After working for a few months, I accepted a job offer from a Singaporean company. Over the years, I have worked on multiple international projects and gained a tremendous amount of experience.
I now have a clear goal of what I want to achieve over the next few years. People always say "knowledge itself is power" which I fully agree with. By exposing myself to an overseas company, I had the opportunity to engage with more external knowledge that ultimately improved my understanding of how things work. The opportunity to work abroad has also allowed me the opportunity to broaden my horizons.
I hope my story will help the younger generation think twice about what they can achieve in life. My advice to the younger generation is to always think of a solution to the problem. Never think of how to avoid a problem but think of a solution to the problem. Stay strong and overcome those challenges, you will never regret working hard because hard work always pays off.
