    Required Skills and Experience

    • Knowledge of policy development process.

    • Analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative).

    • Experience in organising and participating in community work.

    • Ability to communicate effectively to a range of diverse audiences.

    • Cultural awareness and ability to build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders, client/community groups, government, policy makers, church partners, as well as other relevant networks.

    • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a workload comprised of diverse tasks and responsbilities.

    • Strong IT literacy (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, etc).

    • Proficient in oral and written communications, both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is a plus.

    • Human Resources experience is an added advantage.

    • Strong sense of accountability and commitment.

    • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

    Educational Requirements

    A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from relevant fields.

    The Policy, Advocacy and Research Department (PAR) focuses on the causes of poverty and injustice, and formulates strategies towards biblical justice. The main strategies include empowering the people who are affected by injustice, empowering churches and the general public to partner and advocate alongside, and strategising towards affecting change at the local and national levels through addressing long-standing systemic and structural causes and issues relating to poverty and injustice. PAR works together with the Community Development, Service Development and Communications departments through its relevant research and joint advocacy initiatives.
     
    The candidate should be passionate and committed towards informed policy development together with advocacy strategies and initiatives, in the overall effort to bring about positive change and biblical justice for the underprivileged.
